Whilst out and about from Daniel Cobb۪s Kennington office, offering property viewings in the Lambeth area, we۪ve noticed that Vauxhall۪s shopfronts are looking a lot smarter this summer. The reason? An extensive shop front regeneration project, which has been funded by the Greater London Authority. The 43,000 project is intended to create a unified shopping parade and improvements have included: repainting shop fronts, refurbishing awning boxes, installing new signs and window graphics. In some cases shop fronts have been stripped right back to their traditional features, then given a modern twist by adding contemporary graphics. The aim has been to increase the number of visitors to the parade by making it cleaner, greener and safer, ensuring that the high street will survive as a shopping area for years to come. The project۪s architects consulted with all the shop owners involved, getting their feedback on proposed designs and making sure that the changes reflected the character of the area.Vauxhall is close to the river and within walking distance of Waterloo, so it۪s the ideal location for urban dwellers who love a short commute. These improvements have huge potential to bring about a significant, and hopefully positive change for the high street and surrounding area, with clearer signage and graphics to boost the appearance of individual shops -Vauxhall One CEO, Bernard Collier
