After a golden August, roll on September!

This recent article in the Guardian reports that people are now feeling more positive about their finances in the coming year. The Markit household finances index for August shows a 2.7 increase (to 49.8) compared with July۪s more pessimistic figure of 47.1. The Office for National Statistics has also recorded an increase in retail sales in July, with sales rising by 5.9% compared with the same month last year.Thanks to our recent Olympic victories and the late summer sunshine, it۪s turned out to be something of a golden August for Britain, and recent figures have added to the feeling of optimism.
