Dan Colen’s Sweet Liberty Exhibition in Lambeth

This month, the Newport Street Gallery opened their new exhibition presenting the work of American artist, Dan Colen, who is famous for his brilliantly witty, poignant and nihilistic take on comtemporary American and his investigation into the act of producing and studying art. Through the appropriation and subversion of imagery from the globalised mass meida and American subcultures, Colen's examines masculinity and individuality and lays bare the American Dream revealing a deep-seated existential unease. Open until January 2018, this exhibition is well worth a visit if you enjoy contemporary and thought-provoking artworks.

Young Marx in The Bridge Theatre in London Bridge

The brand new 900-seater Bridge Theatre opened its doors on Wednesday with the inaugural performance of Young Marx, written by the team behind One Man, Two Guvnors, Richard Bean and Clive Coleman, and directed by Nicholas Hytner. Telling the story of a 32 year old revolutionary living in London and the predicaments and obstructions he faces a long the way, this comedy shows the silly side to one history's most influential thinkers and his great ability to throw a party! Set to rival other grand theatres, The Bridge Theatre is well worth the visit.
