What's On This Weekend: Vauxhall Street Food Garden, Laika & Gin Journey
Queer British Art in Millbank
This first of its kind dedicated to queer British art, this exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminilisation of male homosexuality in England. It features works from 1861 – 1967 relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer identities and explores how artists expressed themselves in a time when established assumptions about gender and sexuality were being questions and transformed. There will be deeply personal and intimate works from artists such as John Singer Sargent, Dora Carrington, Duncan Grant and David Hockney. Only a very short walk from our Westminster office, if you’re interested in looking at properties to rent or properties to buy in the area, feel free to drop in and say hello to our team who would be happy to help.
Yoga with Nordic Music on Southbank
Part of Nordic Matters at Southbank, Nordic Music Days is hosting this free yoga session on The Clore Ballroom inside the Royal Festival Hall, which will be accompanied by soothing and invigorating Nordic Music to calm the soul and get you fully limbered and totally relaxed for the rest of the festival. If you’re looking for a different way to start your morning, then swap out your coffee and TV for a yoga mat in an unusual and Zen environment. To add to the occasion, there will also be live vibraphone music by Swedish composer, sound artist and percussionist Johan E. Andersson so it will be a yoga session like no other.
Exploding Cinema’s Disposable Film Night in Kennington
Exploding Cinema was founded 25 years ago by a volunteer collective of filmmakers and film lovers who believe in maintaining an open access film show where anyone has the possibility to show anything regardless of what the subject matter is. This Saturday at the Cinema Museum in Kennington, they are hosting a special evening focusing on how technology has made films disposable. Due to toys, USBS, CCTV, scanners etc. a lot of new film is only used for a short period and then is rid of. Some creatives however have been using these short clips to make films and some of them will be presented at this show as part of the Disposable Film Festival. Only a very short journey from our Kennington office, drop in and say hello if you’re keen to find out more about properties to rent or properties to buy in the surrounding area.

Written by Bryony Hannah and Avya Leventis, the story is set in 2057 in the home of a boy called Sami who lives with his mum who is an astronaut. She explains that life could be better for them out in space and so they now face the prospect of everything they know and saying to goodbye, just like Laika did. This is a moving sci-fi adventure which is beautifully told with the use of puppetry, music and plenty of movement. The theatre is not far from our London Bridge office.
