What’s On This Weekend: Trooping The Colour, Rio Azul & Orla Keily: A Life In Pattern

Trooping The Colour in Westminster

Also known as The Queen’s Birthday Parade, Trooping the Colour marks the second ‘official’ of the Queen’s two birthdays with a vibrant display of ceremony and military history. For anyone who hasn’t had the opportunity to see this before, this is a spectacular piece of pageantry but also a reminder of the role the armed forces who are traditionally under the Queen’s control. There will be hundreds of well-disciplined soldiers in their full dress uniform marching past the Horse Guards Parade, as well as a Battalion giving the Royal Salute and of course military bands playing some great music. If you’re able to get tickets, head down anyway to take in the atmosphere on the day. Only a short walk from our Westminster office, if you’re interested in looking at properties to rent or properties to buy in the area, feel free to drop in and hello to our team who would be happy to help.

Make Space Studios Open Day in Waterloo

If you’ve ever wondered what those multicoloured porter cabins are that run along the edge of the track at Waterloo Station, these are Make Space Studios which were set up in order to home the works of various artists from all backgrounds. This weekend, Make Space Studios will be hosting an Open Day where the studios will become open to the public and all the independent artists will be offering a rare glimpse inside. With over 60 studios to explore new painters, sculptors, fashion designers, goldsmiths, photographers and much more this is a fun and different day out for the whole family. It will also give you the opportunity to buy their work without any commission should you wish. There will live music on the day, as well as plenty of workshops to take part in and a kids’ treasure hunt!

Bearpit Karaoke in Vauxhall

Back again by popular demand from last year, Joe Hatchiban’s Bearpit Karaoke has returned to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens. In the world famous Mauerpark in Berlond, Germany, this weekly fixture has always been massively popular with locals and visitors alike. With that in mind, Joe has brought the fun to London after helping people unleash their inner performer since 2009. With the help of Vauxhall One and Lambeth Council, crowds will gather around to watch strangers singing karaoke in the park, encouraging the crowd to take turns. What is now a landmark on Berlin city’s cultural scene, promises to be a good laugh. Only a very short bus ride from our Kennington office, drop in if you’re keen to find out more about properties to rent or properties to buy in the area.
