Portraits From The Elephant Exhibition in Elephant & Castle
Madrid native Almudena Romero will be holding an exhibition of her photographic portraits of people from the Elephant & Castle area. In May 2017, Romero was commissioned by PARC to open a free studio in the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre, to make a series of portraits of residents, shoppers and visitors, using the Wet Collodion process. 100 men, women and children where photographed and her portraits act as a memorial to the centre of this iconic London neighbourhood. Interlocutor Exhibition in Vauxhall
The Gasworks gallery in Vauxhall presents a major new commision called Interlocutor by Nottingham-based artist Rachal Bradley. Previously working from the privacy of the artist’s studio at Gasworks, Bradley occupied the space throughout the summer of 2017 and since then has spiraled her project outwards to more public stages such as private workships and public events including conversations with other artists. This solo exhibition will show natural resin infused with a bespoke herbal tonic encasing the gallery floor, intended to ‘remedy’ the organisation’s ailments. To marvel at this intriguing work, head to Gasworks before the 18th March.
