In House Maintenance service launch at the Lambeth Fair
On Saturday 24th June, just before 12.30pm, we found ourselves hovering with nervous excitement behind the Daniel Cobb stall at the North Lambeth Parish Fete, waiting to launch our brand new property maintenance service: “In House”.
In House Maintenance is a new service designed to tackle any household problem, large or small, from cleaning to completely rewiring a property. Using a simple online form, clients are able to tell us about any jobs that need to be done around their homes. We then arrange for a tradesperson with the appropriate skills, screened and approved by Daniel Cobb’s property maintenance team, to visit at a convenient time. Billing is straightforward and we offer competitive rates, starting at just £20 per hour for a cleaner and moving up to £60ph for a decorator, £78ph for an experienced handyman and £90ph for a plumber or electrician.
What can we do for you?
The weather on launch day was fine and everything was in place - including music, food stalls, children’s races, games and entertainment - to provide a fantastic day out for local residents. However, as the fete officially opened and crowds flooded into the palace gardens, we felt a little apprehensive as to how well our new service might be received.
Would members of the public like the idea? Would they sign up to learn more? Enquiries started slowly but gradually more and more visitors gathered around the stall, asking about the range of services we could offer and checking if we covered their area. One hundred and thirty one signatures later, our initial anxiety had disappeared, leaving us feeling elated (and not a little relieved) by the level of interest we had received.
The North Lambeth Parish Fete was a great community event and it provided a valuable opportunity for Daniel Cobb staff to interact with local residents, giving out bags of goodies and chatting to people about their household maintenance issues. Visitors to the stall were impressed by the simplicity of the scheme and surprised to learn how many areas of London we covered. In addition to the 131 individuals who signed up on the day, we were delighted to take three bookings for work to be carried out.
In the weeks after the fete we’ve received excellent feedback and heard from many more householders looking for a simple, stress-free solution to their everyday maintenance needs. Our staff also came in for their share of praise. In the words of Francis (one of our satisfied clients), "Aaron was on-time, knowledgeable and efficient." Kristy (another satisfied client) said "I just wanted to let you know the contractor did a great job on the cupboard." Gerrit who hired our services for a painting job expressed his pleasure when he stated "The painting has been done to a good standard."
