Summer’s here, and it’s time to celebrate with a Fete!
It’s that time of the year again, when we put up our branded gazebo, don our Daniel Cobb polo shirts and enter into the community spirit at the North Lambeth Parish Fete. We can’t wait.
Daniel Cobb is a proud sponsor of this popular community event, set in the lovely gardens of Lambeth Palace. Last year we enjoyed a full-on day, meeting members of the public who came up to our stand (and occasionally sneaking off to play a quick game of ‘Splat the Rat’ or buy snacks from one of the tempting food stalls). It was a great opportunity for us to meet other local businesses and see what they had to offer, and we particularly enjoyed the dog show, where owners compete in various categories, including “dog with the waggiest tail” and “fastest sausage eater”.
This year the fete will be held between 12.30pm and 5.00pm on Saturday 30th June and highlights will include children’s races, a tug-of-war, a bouncy castle, face-painting, a Pimm’s tent and various side-shows, all accompanied by music from the Archbishop Sumner Primary School Brass Band, the Young Voices choir and - to complete the summer feel-good vibe - a jazz band. With lots of prizes to be won, members of our team will be walking around selling raffle tickets on the day, so don't forget to stay on for the draw at 4pm.
Daniel Cobb has sponsored the North Lambeth Parish Fete for a number of years now and is delighted to support the event again in 2018. With very warm weather predicted for the end of June, George Cobb, our Marketing and Communications Director, expects a high turnout. “But whatever the weather, I know it will be a fantastic day out,” he says. “The fete is always brilliantly organised by the local community team, headed by Sarah Kennedy and Team Rector Rev. Canon Angus Aagaard, and everyone has a lot of fun.” Visitors to the fete will find the entrance on Lambeth Palace Road (SE1 7JU).
Local dog-owners are encouraged to register their pooches for the dog show before the event. There are many different categories to enter, so whether you have a pretty puppy or a distinguished veteran, you stand a chance of winning: simply sign up on the Fete’s online registration page.
Rain or shine, we'll look forward to seeing you on the day: just look out for our stand and join us for a glass of bubbly. Meanwhile, if you need help to buy, sell or rent a property in Westminster, London Bridge or Kennington, why not get in touch?
