What’s On This Weekend: Prudential Ride London, Mini Maker Fair & Secret Vauxhall Wandering

 

Prudential Ride London

After the success of the last few years, Prudential RideLondon the world-class festival of cycling is back again this weekend. An event that successfully was created to encourage more people to take up cycling more safely, has taken its cue from the London Marathon. This is an opportunity for the whole family to take part by either taking part in the free family ride in Central London or to watch the professional cyclists race the London-Surrey Classic. With two fun-filled festival zones on Southbank and in Green Park, they are walking distance from our office in Westminster. Queen Anne at Theatre Royal Haymarket

Directed by Nathalie Abrahami and written by Helen Edmundson, the play currently on at the Royal Haymarket Theatre on Suffolk Street is about the days before Princess Anne taking over as Monarch from William III is 1702. Princess Anne must decide where her allegiances lie and who she can trust as well as deciding whether to sacrifice close relationships for the sake of the country. Caught between friendship and duty, the Princess must decide where the Duchess of Marlborough stands. Not far from our Westminster office, this is a gripping play that is a must see if you enjoy factual period dramas and is playing until the end of September.

Mini Maker Fair at Imagination Lab in Lambeth

For the last two years, The Institute of Imagination has run Mini Maker Fairs in London, where they host multiple activities allowing children to make things with their hands or through using tools and technologies that they wouldn’t usually have access to. The third fair this year comes to Albert Embankment and will showcase crafters, printers, weavers, sound artists, technologists, computer scientists and much more. If you’re child would be interested in playing with Raspberry Pi controlled robots or learning how to make their on DIY USB digital microscope then this is a great and educational day out for them. Only a very short bus ride from our Kennington office, drop if you’re keen to find out more about properties to rent or properties to buy in the area.

Secret Vauxhall Wandering in Vauxhall

Living London ‘wanderings’ was created by Saira Niazi to offer people the opportunity to explore parts of London that remain relatively unknown and underexplored. She has extensive insider information relating to different areas, places and projects in London. She has also collaborated with various different communities as well as London’s most famous attractions. This Saturday she is offering a wander from Vauxhall to Oval, where people will be able to visit the new Migration Museum and see the animals at Vauxhall City Farm whilst also discovering plenty of beautiful community garden. The wander will last for 2.5 hours and there will be various stops along the way.

Uniqlo Tate Lates at Tate Modern, Bankside

If you're thinking about what to do this Friday night, take a stroll from our office in London Bridge along the Thames to the Tate Modern where Uniqlo are hosting Tate Lates. This month they have chosen to focus on queer arts, culture and community. This will be a great opportunity to discover new DJ's, new artists, attend pop-up talks and hands-on workshops whilst drinking in the atmosphere and surroundings of the Tate Modern after dark. There will be great music as well as delicious food and drink on offer. 'Tate Lates' starts at 6pm and is free to the public.

Fantasy High Street’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in London Bridge

If you’re looking for something a little bit different to do with the family this weekend, then hop a long to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party which is being hosted at Hay’s Galleria on Battle Bridge Lane. This is an interactive performance and dining experience for the whole family where your favourite characters come back to life, transporting the audience to the magical world of the Mad Hatter. There will be story telling, games and dancing as well as delicious cakes and treats to tuck into, so don’t miss out on this fun day out for families with young children.
